Rest

I lean against a tree.
The sound of the trickling stream
Washes over me.

I loathe the airplane growling overhead.
Do man’s inventions have a place among the dead?
Surely there remains a place where man can rest.

It is not here. It is not yet.
Onward, upward, we tread.
